Ask
Jeremiah 6:16,
What are the ancient paths? Where is the good way found?
Simply put, it is to walk in intimate friendship with the one true God, who has revealed himself as recorded in the scriptures and in these last days through Jesus Christ the promised Messiah. What does that look like practically? Like any friendship, it means to have open and honest interactions in order to know and be known. It is to ask, seek, and knock.
Ask, Seek, Knock
“Ask and it will be given to you;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks,
the door will be opened.
—Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
You will seek me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart.
—Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
Call to me and I will answer you
and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
—Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)
But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
“The Lord is great!”
—Psalm 40:16 (NIV)
The poor will see and be glad—you who seek God,
may your hearts live!
—Psalm 69:32 (NIV)
