A Prayer for helping a Friend in Crisis

Lord, only your life touching this person’s heart can do what needs to be done.
My skill, my cleverness, my knowledge add up to nothing if your life is not the energy controlling everything I do.
Father, I’m overwhelmed by the awful possibilities this person is facing. I can feel the terror in my bones.
But I also taste the peace beneath the terror of knowing the power of your grace.
Reveal your Son through me that I might be a powerful instrument for good in your Spirit’s hands.

A Prayer for A Weary Soul Needing Connection

Dear Lord, people I love are not doing well.
My husband, my wife, my son, my daughter, my parent, my friend are struggling with weary, sick, discouraged, stubborn souls.
Their response to life’s hardships is fleshly.
God, use me to awaken their spirits by pouring your life through me into the hard ground of their hearts.
Let the water of life penetrate the thick crust and nourish the good work your Spirit is now doing in their souls.
Nothing will help except an experience of life. Pour out that experience through me.
