In the Silence

[Verse 1]
I'm tired of telling you you have me
When I know you really don't
I'm tired of telling you I'll follow
When I know I really won't

'Cause I'd rather stand here speechless
With no great words to say
If my silence is more truthful
And my ears can hear how to walk in your way

[Chorus]
In the silence
You are speaking
In the quiet I can feel the fire
And it's burning, burning deeply
Burning all that it is
That you desire to be silent, in me

[Verse 2]
Oh Jesus, can you hear me?
My soul is screaming out
And my broken will cries teach me
What your Kingdom's all about

Unite my heart to fear you
To fear your holy name
And create a life of worship
In the spirit and truth of your loving ways

from Jason Upton's song "In The Silence"

Sons and Daughters of the Living God

Jesus is not only the truth but the way...
Two ways of life: (see Galatians 4)
1. According to the slave woman (human efforts)
2. According to the free woman (by the Spirit)

Isaiah 55:10-11

As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Poverty

There's a power in poverty that breaks principalities
And brings authorities down to their knees

There's a brewing frustration an ageless temptation
To fight for control by manipulation

But the God of the kingdoms and the God of the Nations
The God of creation sent this revelation
Through the homeless and penniless Jesus the son
The poor will inherit the Kingdom to come.

Where will we turn when our world falls apart
And all of the treasures we've stored in our barns
Can't buy the Kingdom of God?

Who will we praise when we've praised all our lives
men who build Kingdoms and men who build fame
but heaven does not know their names?

And what will we fear when all that remains
Is God on His throne, with a child in his arms,
and love in his eyes
And the sound of his heart cry?

from Jason Upton's song "Poverty"
